Pattern: Wind-Cold attacking Exterior (Taiyang Stage Attack by Cold; Wind-Cold Exterior Excess)
Indications: Fever and chills (chills predominant) no sweating, headache, generalized body aches, wheezing, a thin, white tongue coating, and a floating, tight pulse.
Cautions and contraindications: In patients with debility and copious urination, or who are prone to bleeding (especially from the nose).
Because of the adrenergic effects of Herba Ephedrae (ma huang), use with caution in cases with hypertension.
