Chief: ma huang, shi gao

Deputy:        xing ren

Envoy:          zhi gan cao

Pattern: Heat Lodged in the Lung

Indications: Fever with sweating, or fever with no sweating, thirst, wheezing, coughing, labored breathing, nasal flaring and pain, a yellow tongue coating, and a slippery, rapid pulse.

Cautions and contraindications: Contraindicated for wheezing due to Cold and in cases where the pathogenic influence lingers due to normal Qi deficiency.
