Bai Zhu - White atractylodes (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae)

Properties: Warm, Sweet, Bitter. Channels: Spleen, Stomach

Action and indication: Tonifies Spleen: diarrhea, fatigue.  (Si Jun Zi Tang)

Dries dampness: edema, damp Bi. (Wu Ling San, Gui Zhi Shao Yao Zhi Mu Tang)

Stabilizes exterior, stops sweat. (Yu Ping Feng San)

Calms fetus.

Contraindicated: Yin deficiency heat, damage to fluids. 

Raw: dry damp. Dry-fried: tonify Qi. Char: stop diarrhea.

Dose: 4.5-9 g
