Properties: Cold, Sweet, Salty. Channels: Liver, Kidney, Heart

Action and indication: Nourishes Yin, anchors Yang: Liver Yang, int wind with tremors of hands and feet.  (Zhen Gan Xi Feng Tang)

Tonifies Kidney, strengthens bones: weak lumbar, fragile bones, retarded bone growth in children. 

Cools blood: uterine bleeding.  (Gu Jing Wan)

Nourishes Heart blood: anxiety, insomnia

Contraindicated: pregnancy, Yang deficiency diarrhea, damp-Cold in Stomach.

Antagonizes Ren shen, Sha shen. 

Dose: 10-30 g Crush and decoct 30 min before other herbs.
