Jiu Xiang Chong - Dung Beetle (Aspongopus)

Properties: Salty, warm. Channels: Spleen, Liver, Kidney.

Action and indication: regulates the qi, warms the Kidney Yang. For distention and a stifling sensation in the chest and epigastric area due to qi constraint, or Liver qi accosting the Spleen and Stomach leading to epigastric pain. For impotence and soreness of the lower back and knees due to Kidney yang deficiency.

Contraindicated: Yin deficiency and heat signs.

Dose: 3-9 g.
