Kun Bu - Kelp Thallus (Eckloniae Thallus)

Properties: Cold, Salty. Channels: Kidney, Liver, Spleen

Action and indication: Resolves phlegm-fire nodules: goiter, neck swellings, testicular swelling.  (Hai Zao Yu Hu Tang)

Edema.

Contraindicated in Spleen and Stomach deficiency Cold.

Dose: 4.5-15 g.

Its actions mirror those of Eckloniae Thallus (Kun Bu), for which it is used interchangeably. Laminariae Thallus (hai dai) is less commonly used.
