Wan Niang Qing - Japanese Lily Bulb (Radix Et Rhizoma Rohdeae Japonicae)

Properties: Bitter, slightly sweet, cold, slightly toxic. Channels: Lung

Action and indication: clears heat, resolves toxicity, cools the blood, and stops bleeding; also used recently as a cardiotonic. Traditionally for throat pain and toxicity.

Because the cardiotonic effects are cumulative, the dosage must be carefully controlled. Contraindicated during pregnancy.

Dose: 3-9g.
