Zhi Cao Wu - Processed Wild Aconite Root (Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii Preparata)

Properties: Acrid, bitter, hot, very toxic. Channels: Liver, Spleen, Kidney

Action and indication: Disperses cold, scours out wind, overcomes dampness, and stops pain. Almost exclusively used topically.

Contraindicated: None noted.

Dose: 1.5-3g

Toxicity: This herb is highly toxic, and is only to be used after processing because of its toxicity. The herb is used externally; the main issue here is its unpredictability owing to the variety of species and areas of collection.
