Chief: Fructus Gardeniae Jasminoidis (zhi zi).

Semen Sojae Praeparata (dan dou zhi)

Pattern: Qi-level heat lingering in the superficial aspects of the yang brightness stage.

Indications: Insomnia with tossing and turning in bed, stifling sensation in the chest with a soft epigastrium, slightly yellow tongue coating, slightly rapid or strong, floating pulse at the distal position. (This is a form of heat from constraint).
