Properties: Cold, Sweet. Channels: Heart, Liver

Action and indication: Skin eruptions due to heat toxin, stagnation, or non-venting.  (Zi Yun Gao - Purple Cloud Ointment)

Moistens the intestines.

Contraindicated for Spleen deficiency with diarrhea. Lithospermum banned in Germany for possible hepatotoxicity.

Dose: 3-9 g
